Backup power and generators are used to keep things running if the main power goes out in a data center. Each data center offers load balanced Dell servers providing you with the reliability you expect from dell.
Control Panel
------------- iPage uses a control panel called vDeck, which is a very popular control panel. The panel is very clear and easy to use, with good graphics and a reasonable distribution of the different functions. The file manager is very basic and could use more features. Archiving files is unnecessarily complicated. There’s an HTML editor, for editing files online, but no code editor – which is sometimes needed.
Setting up basic things like e-mail addresses and ftp accounts is very easy. iPage’s configuration insists on strong passwords, to ensure your site’s security.
Customer Support
---------------- 24/7 phone, live chat and ticket support. Phone support is good. (All of the calls are answered by agents in North America and are answered in less than 2 minutes on average. The chat support team is to respond initially, but it can take time to get the answer you need (of course that's true with most of the hosts we review). Ticket responses have been good during the week, but slower at weekends, which is also fairly common.
