Telnet is useful for troubleshooting MySQL (port 3306), FTP (port 21), email (port 110, port 25, port 26) to see if a firewall or other internet security software (e.g., anti-virus like Norton, McAfee) is blocking a particular port. Another useful link is at http://www.bluehost.com/cgi-bin/firewall where a broken image (globe) is indicative that the port is being blocked. If you have missing images, please contact your network administrator.
